Laptop lead
Hey all,
I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop (Came as a free gift after I bought some equipment). Had it abit over 12 months. Now the power lead, it comes in two halfs:
One has a household plug one end and a 'clover leaf' plug on the other (This is fine);
The clover leaf plugs into the over half of the lead which is a black box then the other end plugs into my laptop - Looks like a big jackplug this end and its this half of the lead I require.
The wire inside the flex has broken, Iv got about 8 cable ties holding it in position so that it'll charge but if you knock it you can spend 25mins trying to put it into another position just so it will charge. Tired of doing this now so Im after this lead but I dont fancy paying £30 for one on eBay from HongKong, anyone have one or know where I could get one?
Many thanks folks

Re: Laptop lead
Either strip it all down and re-solder it. Or get a new one. Only options really

Re: Laptop lead
I wouldn't attempt soldering one, buying a new one is nice and easy and to be honest, £30 is an absolute pittance. I've seen Dell chargers sold for £90+!

Re: Laptop lead
this thread is a bit old, if you crack teh power pack open you could resolder a replacement wire on easily, i am a pc / laptop repair specialist, and it is a walk in teh park, the power block will not clip back together but a bit leckkie tape does teh trick, other thn that you can get one of these for 20 quid.....

Re: Laptop lead
I'd solder it up and seal with heatshrink tbh, cost you a couple of quid for the bits at maplins and maybe fifteen minutes of time.
Nothing to see here...
