Lets Rick Roll Christmas

Postby dontpannic on Thu Dec 18, 2008 7:40 pm

Okay, not a joke but a worthy cause non the less!

The plan is fairly simple. From now until Sunday download a copy of Rick Astleys hit "Never Gonna Give You Up" from any dedicated music download website, such as play.com, iTunes, hmv etc. It costs just 79 pence on iTunes and has got to be worth it just to stop that talentless load of s**t xfactor from getting another christmas number one.

Only two downloads per PC will be counted via the music charts when the winner is announced for the christmas number one. With over 55,000 facebook members registered on the "lets rick roll christmas" group it's more than possible that we can put a dampner on Cowells money making machine this christmas.

Vote this up if you have done! Or will do! Or even agree!

If Rick gets to no.1 then it will indeed be a happy Christmas. I really cannot stand the money spinning Ex Factor. Last time I put on a big smile for a Xmas no.1 was in 2005 I think when Nizlopi's JCB Song clinched it, again, I think

Edit: no, it was Shayne Ward, tugger  Which reminds me, has anyone heard of him since? No? Didn't think so!

The x factor winners are only around to make an album, then once the sales of it drop, them disappear

Well, that worked then. Astley didn't even make the top 40.

Wonder how many people said they would but were too ashamed to actually do it  :D
My name is Alex. I used to have a Capri. I don't anymore. But I'm still called Capri.

Well, it was worth a shot. I'm absolutely sick of Simon Cowell and his stupid crappy TV shows dominating the christmas number one.

The problem is, Mr Cowell is so far up his own arse he doesn't know what day it is - did anyone see the NTA the other month, when the "Couldn't believe" that strictly come dancing was voted better than X Factor?
