lightened/balanced flywheel

how much does a lightened/balanced flywheel cost and how big a performance inprovement would i see from one in my xr2i?

specialised engines do balanced and lightened flywheels, lighteneing improve power but lessen torque. balancing is the best thing

grintermatt what mods have you got done on your car? if you haven't already got a uprated cam get one instead, or get the head ported, flowed, more power than getting the flywheel lightened etc..

Not much point in just getting the flywheel balanced, you need to get the pistons, rods, crankshaft balanced to gain the full benefits. Lightening slightly is o.k but take too much off and it will probably explode with the bits flying off in all directions(it will cut straight through the gearbox), you`re better off getting a steel flywheel(Burtons) or a Dural one from Rsdevelopments-big bucks though!!. Mine will go past 7500 rpm but the powers around 4000-6500.. It does make the car much more driveable and smoother..
