Locksmith question

Postby dontpannic on Thu Feb 22, 2007 12:31 pm

Hi Guys,

I've a bit of a predicament with my locks and ignition.

My immobiliser works fine, no trouble there.

I have a new lock set for the doors, boot and petrol cap but my ignition barrel is worn to buggery. I'm going to swap this out but cannot get behind the dash to swap the PATS module (in a welded metal cage :(). Can a locksmith cut a key the same as the one that operates the doors, but put the code from my old key which contains the correct PATS code?

Follow me?

I'll try again!! lol

Two different keys. Would a locksmith be able to cut a new ford chipped key with the NEW key pattern but EXISTING PATS code?

Cheers,
Nick

im assuming you have a red key.

on the top there is a red dot put a wood screw into this and pull out this is your chip put that chip in one of the keys to match your new keycode. then recode your new keys to match then put your "red" key safe so you dont lose it

I don't have a red key. I've got a red key for the new PATS module, but I can't get the damn cage off to change the module...
