Loud exhaust??

I am lookin for a LOUD exhaust on my 1.1 WITHOUT removing the cat. What should the exhaust set-up be to acheive this? I was thinking of just the cat. with no silencers. Will this be LOUD?? And also will this increase emissions?

You wont increase the emissions, but you will get stopped if your car is too loud.
If you are really wanting a loud system, you should try Ashley exhausts they are meant to be very loud

Ashley arent bad at all but if you want a LOUD exhaust why not have a 3" full system from manifold made and top it off with 4" tailpipe!!

'cos anything larger than a 52mm bore on a 1.1 will make it run like a Nova.
Try a single, long back box on it's own with the cat. The cat takes all the raspyness out of the car anyway.

Why would that b a bad thing? (wrong place to say this ) no offence guys but my 1.2 nova b4 i swapped it for a mini (then that for a 1.6s) ran alot better/faster an handled better then the other 1.1 fezzys that my m8s drove. so makin it run like a nova is a good thing?

I can't believe u said the N word let alone said it ran better than a fezzie
As it's a 1.2 it's gonna have more torque than a 1.1 anyway cause of the larger capacity. A non-cat (pre '92) version only has 1 bhp more than a non cat fezzie anyway. Also it weighs about as much as about a empty crisp packet so it should have been quicker!
I'm sorry but you've touched a nerve here, cos it seems like every Nova round here i see at the lights, (normally brown and a 1.0 litre 'merit') seems to try and race me! Wouldn't mind if i was ready, but when your at the lights and one pulls up with 4 people in the car and drum 'n bass being played at max volume, distortin like a b@stard, all baseball capped up, and the only mod being and a rusty exhaust trim u could fist you'd never dream they'd have the nerve to attempt it! When to their supprise they're in front when the 2 lanes go into one, cos you're not really bothered/payin attention, they take the pi$$ by waving, swerving around, brake testin u and anything else they can think of to wind u up and make them look even more like a tw@t! It only seems to be novas tho. Why? Golfs, R5s and Fiestas don't do it?
There we go, rant over lads!

Not saying in which Car i've owned, cos I'll likely get killed or something
But Running a 2 and 1/4 " bore with no cat, one silencer straight into a 12" x 4" tailbox is fvcking loud, looking at well over 120db's in level.
There a pic of the exhaust in the TRAX 2000 pics on a white (non fiesta) hot hatch
Also the same box that was on Rippy's RST!

Defo go for an Ashley if you want it loud. My XR3i had an ashley exhaust system on it when I bought it. Even louder now though after fitting a cossie induction kit the size of your average lampshade!!!
