'Low comp bottom end'
Whats involved in lowering the compression of the frst lump?
I'm about to start about my engine and while its out i want to do as much as possible..
Can anyone recommend a good after-market gasket?
sorry if these questions have all been asked before.
thanks in advance

Proper low-comp forged pistons is the only way to do it properly.
No need for an aftermarket gasket, waste of money. The standard (but genuine Ford) one is fine.

thanks for the reply mate.
This might seem a bit of a stupid question - ie: if i don't know how much work is involved then i'm automatically underqualified to do it...
but, how much work is involved in fitting these pistons? do they need special tools to set them up correctly?
thanks for your help

once you have your pistons you will probably av to fit the rings you can get a special tool for this or the pistons need to be warm so that springs will fit

something to bear in mind is that its also likely that these lower compression pistons are going to be oversized ie require your block to have the bores machined a bit.
because most people who go to the trouble of low comp will be rebuilding the engine and want to get rid of any lip on the bores etc
