i can't understand why the 1.6 zetec is not good for tuning, i say it tunable becouse i have a friend that turbocharged his 1.6 zetec, with forged pistons and he got 240bhp with rolling road graphs, but he won't tell me what parts do i need to for turbocharge my 1.6 zetec, becouse he said he wants to keep it secret. :-?

u wouldnt need to go down to 7.2:1 C/R...this sort of compression is meant for like 30psi+.

for 12 psi, even 7.9:1 will do! even higher may do! we are running 16psi on an ERST which is running 7.9:1 and we are capable to run 22psi according to the likes of MAD, Ahmed, Karl Norris etc etc

ring up Ian Howell or someone who specialises in zetec engines and see what he says...its the best way

i'm going to use the standard ecu for now. does it make any damage to the engine on a standard ecu?

but in the near future i'm going to install the pactel T2 ECU.

so what you thing about running on standard ecu?

and what bhp approximatly should i have? :Q

u STILL have to use a mappable chip like the Uni-chip inorder to control the 5th injector and adjust fuelling etc.

ur car is gonna have to be mapped whichever way u look at it as u aint gonna find an off the shelf chip for a 16v zetec turbo...power i would reckon ud see around 200bhp+ genuine when everything is done properly and everything is mapped up, with the right turbo, comp ratio, management, injectors etc etc...thats if u can turbocharge the 1600 safely!

just shove a 2ltr throttle body, high lift cams, induction kit, exhaust system+downpipes, remap ecu, gas flowed head, lightened flywheel, group A head gasket, do some piston weight matching and bobs your uncle 110bhp!! :o :o

We've told you a million times, the valves on the 1.6 are too small and it's a waste of time and money to try and turbo it.

Get a 1.8 or a 2L. Also consider the posibility that your 'mate' is full of sh*t...
