on 17s with 205s ma fes gripped like a turd to a blanket but was very unpredicatable. when i hit some bumps it could pull the steerin wheel off me somtimes. had loadsa trouble with rubbin so sold em and stuck 15s on. would never go bigger than 16s tho. use the thinest profile tyre you can afford too.

Depends what you want from the car.
If you want to hammer it and have ultimate handling stick to a 15" rim
If you want to have looks and handling go with a 16" rim
If you don't care that the car will handle like a pig and want it to look good 17" rims can be made to fit. A fair bit of arch butchering is required though

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

i dropped my si by 60mm on pi springs and everything was lovely but the back left arch rubbing on really big bumps or medium bumps when three people in car 4 or 5 in car and any little bump and it would just shred at the wheel so stopped doin that sharpish have 15/195/45 on mine with zetec-s wheels was gonna go for superleggeras but those are the cheaper option you should be ok with 15/45 another thing dont know what like on other cars but my front needed spacing 2mm to clear the suspension
dont hate the playa hate the game

Nice choice of wheel mate
I have 17s on my fiesta with a -60mm drop it took a lot of work to get them to fit but they dont rub at all even with 5 people in the car.
17s ruin the handling though.

My last frst i lowered 60mm with 17's and the handling was dreadfull.
Stuck the original 14's back on and it was a go kart.

It all depends what offset your wheels are. I had a set of et37s with 205/45/16 7" wide and they rubbed on the front and rear. I now have a set of mondeo 5 spokes which are et40 6.5" wide fitted with 195/40/16 tyres and they dont rub anywhere and could still take 5 people around lowered 60mm. I think the minimum offset wheels you will need is et35 with a max width of 6.5" and go with either 195/45 or 195/40 tyres mate for the least hassel. Hope this helps

Oranoco :195/40/16 are the best size to fit on your 16's.
Not to expensive either at about £70 a corner
you'll be lucky to find a set at that price plus fitting
lowest i got was £80-90 something all in closer to £90 i think
Dunlop Sp 9000's are the most recommended on the market at the moment
