Postby MK4 Rick on Sun Mar 15, 2009 10:04 pm

i want to lower my compression on the 2litre zetec using the 1.5mm .i had a look in the haynes manual to have alook at what the compression ratio is and its 10.0.01.so if using a 1.5mm plate and a std head gasket what would it drop the cr to.im after around 8.3.1 or 8.5.1

approx 8.9:1 with a 1.5mm decomp plate, using the 2000 MY Focus Head Gasket my lower it more though. I can PM you the Finis number if you haven't already brought the bits. A 2.0mm decomp plate would take it to approx 8.4:1

I also made the thickness out to be approx 0.8mm... that was with a crappy ruler mind, no fancy vernier gauge here!!!
