Lowering Compression Ratio

Postby StreetDragster on Mon Nov 03, 2003 5:36 pm

Also, whilst i'm asking questions,

If i've got a compression ration of 10.5:1 presumably using a standard head gasket and i want to run around 20-22psi of boost, what ratio should i be aiming for and what is the best way of achieving this? I presume a thicker head gasket for a start, but any ideas on what thickness is avaliable and what i should be using?

Thanks

Matt

P.S If for a 2100cc Zetec E BTW

thats a crap way of doin it. ya can get a a compression plate made, like a head gasket but say 5mm thick metal of sumfin.... lowers the compression.

think ya should be looking 4 about 8:1 :-? :-?

Snake,

How do you mod the pistons to suit? Have the top of them skimmed off? Any idea how much would need to be removed to reduce the compression ration from 10.5:1 to say around 8:1

Thanks
