lowering fezzer on 17s using gas shockers

Postby MK4 Rick on Fri Sep 08, 2006 10:32 pm

i have fitted gas shockers on my mk3 fezzer 2i. 1st reason was [ERRR] i have 17s on my fezzer most pot holes i went over, my wheels would catch or scrape the arches on the front.2nd reason was i wanted a stiffer ride.any way all is good now but i cant help but notice my car needs lowering.im still on the std springs that ford blessed us with.i can fit proberly or near 2 bricks under the arches.can anybody recomend a height that i could lower my car to saftley but looks good.

gas shockers

Postby MK4 Rick on Sat Sep 09, 2006 1:19 pm

sorry mate ive missed lead you there.ive trimmed the arches back abit.just need some body how has 17s on there car to recomend a decent ride height (ie 35 mm or 20mm etc. so i can get some springs.when i had oiled dampers it was like the suspension dampers used to sagg.but now ive replaced with gas dampers the car seems to stand up more.giving me more room under arches. :D and the car is a stiffer ride handles a lot better and takes corners nice.
