Lowering kits

Postby heeman10 on Wed Feb 12, 2003 8:25 pm

I'm starting to look for a lowering kit (shockers and springs together) and I want a 40-45mm drop. Nothing too harsh, and not a silly price. I think Gmax do a -60 kit for about £200, which would be pretty much my limit, and a bit more really. Anyone any ideas?

Oh! I've been told by someone who seems to know his stuff that lowering springs on the standard shocks would make the ride really bad, and that with shocks aswell it's much better :-? Got any pics mate?

kits

Springs on their own are for looks only really, and yes they do allow you to corner quicker, but remember that you are putting that much more strain on your std shocks, which means you will have to get new ones anyway one day.

For looks, handling, nicest ride poss on harder springs and for matched and uprated, springs and shocks, go for a whole kit.

G-max do all different height's and being uprated they can handle what you want to throw at them.
Also with the springs and shocks being matched, then you get a more even distribution of stress and strain, allowing them to cope alot better.

G-max would be my first cheapest choice @£200ish for the whole kit.

60mm is gonna be too much for me I'm afraid, that's the prob. I'd maybe consider 45 at the most, but I pack my car to the brim for uni you see, but thanks for the suggestion :)
