lowering springs on factory shocks

hi im looking into getting 60mm springs from a manufacture of ebay called pi

and was wondering will i be able to place these in factory shocks or will i have to get other shocks

Ive just fitted brand new 60mm springs to my std shocks and they fit no problem and no slack any where :D

They will fit fine, just don't expect it to handle amazing or for your shock absorbers to last very long. You want proper uprated and shortened shocks ideally, someone like gmax,spax etc will do them, if yours is a mk3 they pop
Up quite regularly on here for ~£100 a set 2nd hand

I tried it with -35mm springs. Was ok until some bigger bumps where the shocks bottomed out and made a loud bang lol.

Well yeah, where the spring was short and the shock was still the std length, the piston on the shock hit the bottom.

This is why shortened shocks are suggested plus the standard shocks will be soft in comparison to the spring and will end with a very bouncy car lol
