lowering springs

i got a 95 1.6 si 16 v and i have spoke to some people about lowering springs and they say that i can only lower it 30 mm is this true (with out shocks) :???: :???:

I think so for 2 reasons:
i) The mk 3.5 (94+) fiestas have different cups at the back, so most manufacturers don't do 'em (PI do)
ii) Go much lower and you'll bust the shocks!!

couldn't you change the rear shocks? mk3.5 isn't too different they may fit, then you can slam it -60mm if you want easy

Think there's some pretty important chassis differences between L and M reg changes. You can try it, but I wouldn't bank on it. Alternatives are to go for a full kit, which is a far better idea, or go to a professionally set up set of coilovers. I promise you will never, ever want to go back from coilovers, as long as they were properly fitted and set up in the first place, cos you can have the comfy, long distance car AND the low, mean track racer at the twist of a ring.
