Lydden Hill FIA Rallycross Championship - 13th April 2009

Postby BigUKG on Mon Apr 13, 2009 9:13 pm

Today was round one of the FIA Rallycross Championship at Lydden Hill in Kent. Weather was fine, mild and a few sunny moments but not cold so it was lucky really, could have poured down. Loved the 550bhp supercars... anyway, pics...

Something crumbled under the engine-screaming abuse

Drivers on parade... bunch of nutters...!

Had a flat tyre on the clio....

When they'd finished nearly dropping it they got it off the track....

Clipped the tyres on the way through and ended up wedged in....

Mr Murray Walker was also in attendance, the legend.....

Don't buy a C905, 8MP camera and the quality of some of these is shocking. I will admit I did over use the zoom a bit though,

If anyone else went I'd love to see the pics, a proper day out and well worth the £20 admission. One of the drivers in a clio was only 17 as well, and he did so well in a lot of the races he drove in.
Simples!

They were charging £35 for the book which might be in one of those pics, but you could sit with him and have a good chat and stuff, and he genuinely enjoyed talking to people, top bloke.
My Dad brought one and my big brother said the book was only worth a tenner, and my Dad said "I would have happily paid £25 to sit and have a chat with him and have him sign it anyway" :) Got some pictures of him sitting and talking to Murray as well so he's well chuffed.
