Re: M4X WW - My Zetec Turbo Project
Its the gearbox end im not sure about, Hubs are just standard 3.5 items.
They would be great James but I'm not about to collect and postage is grief/pricey.
They original ones or been replaced at some point?
Cheers

Re: M4X WW - My Zetec Turbo Project
Update!
Haven't really done anything..
Split the gearbox, changed the shim from a cvh one to zetec.
Fitted PAS rack with correct brackets and bolts.
Spent another couple of hundred quid at Ford (thanks Clark for the discount!)
Acquired some Si 16v drive shafts and a front engine mount which has been sent to vibra-technics. Then I need to try and fit it!
Also trying to get another ofab engine loom which is a bit tidier!

i've been thinking about that new front vibratechnic mount,
seems a bit silly not to have the rear mount available as its the main mount for the block
if they did the rear mount i'd have all four off them,
but until then i'll stick to the uprated gearbox mounts,
why did you send it away to them? not got access to a press?
oh a pm is on its way lol

Re: M4X WW - My Zetec Turbo Project
I just thought it would be a help for the rear mount, as im using a CVH one as my shell isn't a zetec shell and I wasnt aware the 'cup' on the car was different when it was in the bodyshop!
Sending it to them as its what they say to do on thier site, thought they'd have more experience doing them as well.

i had the same thoughts at first, but i'm a bit unsure now,
might look into sending them my old zetec rear mount see if they can do something?!

In response to this, I got the mount back today and they have blasted and powdercoated it in satin black for me
I will ask them about the rear mount I guess! Unless you want to.

Max, has this been put on the backburner since driving around in the 540i? I wouldn't blame you if it has

Re: M4X WW - My Zetec Turbo Project
Well I removed the fuel tank, because I need to swap the pump and change the car loom - and on the Mk3.5 it didn't look like you could unplug the fuel pump from inside the car due to the smaller hole in the floor.
The new, Non PATS loom..
What is this wire that's been cut? near fuel cut off switch.. (brown/whiteblack wires are side repeater/door switch)
This loom had a simple immobiliser on it, connected here (presume just re attach red/black cables) and to the ignition switch so I'll use my non messed with switch...
Above chopped wires connect to this relay..
FRST tank and cossie pump, my tank and small pump...
Does this look OK?!
Not the biggest update I know, but I'm trying!

Re: M4X WW - My Zetec Turbo Project
LOL nice wiring. I would redo that with thicker gauge wire for the pump feed.
That additional connector is the side repeater.

Does it look that bad? The wiring on the pump plug on the loom isn't any thicker I don't think (mk3.5 loom has 4 thick wires and mk3 loom has two thick and two thin)
The pics of the loom have two single terminals (side rep, door ajar) and the tiny wire that's been cut off - what's that

What is it? I didn't really pay much attention but it didn't look very connected. I think there was a loose multi plug thing also?! My 1.3 pump doesn't have the box.

its the fuel pump surpressor, when these play up you can get problems, or they just stop working and your pump wont run

Re: M4X WW - My Zetec Turbo Project
some sort of box that stops interferance with pump and guage.
was told by ford technician they better off in bin. causes more harm than good. Like the gold throttle dampner which ends up leaking all your fuel pressure into the tank
