M4X WW - ZT Project - For Sale / Breaking (soon!)
Re: M4X WW - My Zetec Turbo Project
Just realised something must be the door ajar switch, will have a look later. May have the repeaters attached to the wrong bit!

MY2001 Mk5 with Deadlocks do (i.e. ZS) because Ford finally stopped using the crap push switches in the A pillar and made use of the deadlock ajar switches in the motor instead The wire is still present in the loom and is connected though, as the switches remained as blanking plug.

I replied ages ago but must have navigated away before sending.
Black wires are connected OK. Brown with Red tracer are door ajar.
I've not seen the black bullet connector before, but grey primary colour denotes illumination feed. Being a HCS car it was probably an illumination feed for the transmission selector (auto being available on HCS only I believe).

This loom MAY have come out of an Auto car, I cant remember. But I do know I have an auto selector gate in the shed that may have come from the same car!

Love the black/red theme that you've got going on with the exterior.
Has a 'mean' & 'less is more' look going on all at the same time. Look forward to seeing it with the susp and wheel set up all on together. And those brakes will stand out a mile behind the wheels too.

Yes, that is a small block mount. Get a Zetec cradle and mounts.

Re: M4X WW - My Zetec Turbo Project
Looks exactly the same as what you have already got.
The front on the zetec is different for sure. I can't find any pics of it though. But if there aren't any up by later and I am down the garage later then I'll grab a pic of it - and there rear too so you can see. Taking the gearbox cradle off anyway so I'll take some pics for you while I am there.

I reckon that I was using the wrong cradle mount and that's why I tore one of the studs out the gearbox..... Lol

Re: M4X WW - My Zetec Turbo Project
I have a slight issue with the exhaust, not sure why as it presumably fitted fine on the car it came off.
The hanger is about 1.5" too far back for the gearbox bracket and its in-line as well so no space for the exhaust to hang down.
I've tried to find another bracket to see if they are different, does anyone know?

Re: M4X WW - My Zetec Turbo Project
This is how the bay currently stands..
Current isues are..
Rad + piping - I have an Airtec rad which I'm hoping will fit with a few hose tweaks.
Intercooler + piping - Forge universal intercooler on the way, again hoping this will squeeze in.
PAS cooler + piping - I've sent one PAS pipe away for refurb and will run without a cooler to start and improvise after.
Hopefully more progress when I'm back from holiday in a week.

Cheers, I will be getting it running with whatever hoses I have. Then when I've decided what colour(s) I want they will be sent to Roose to be made up.

I did buy a whole PAS setup from Excursion years ago which is from a low mileage car. Problem is with space at the front for the cooler and I'm routing things slightly differently.

Just to chuck something in before it's left out...what are you doing about oil cooling, Max?

Max, if your looking to have custom power steering hoses made I can get them made by earls performance, who I get 30% discount from. My new high pressure hose will cost approx £40
As for oil cooler, you can use the st170 item, which goes inline with the heater matrix hoses. I'm not using anything fancy, the focus rs never did!

I didn't think an oil cooler was 100% necessary? I'm not sure if Mikee was running one or not but its something I can add later without too much drama. Will be getting a spacer for the filter with threads for gauge senders so can hopefully get one with both in one.

I've sent the hose away now, they are hopefully replacing the rubber section and removing the sensor boss.
Any photos of the ST item? I need it to be at the front of the car ideally - although I'm sure the hoses could be routed shorter some how. I've never really looked at an Si to see how they should be, I think the set-up I have from Mark has been modified a fair bit for his old car.

If you want to use the power it will be. As you say, provided you have an oil temp gauge, you can always go for a run around, but I found my temps were sky rocketing (circa 280F IIRC) within a minute of heavier throttle applications, and took several minutes to recover each time by way of cruising with little/no throttle. Installing the oil cooler cured the problem and I never looked back. Bear in mind that this is back at the beginning when mine was only producing 170bhp.

Re: M4X WW - My Zetec Turbo Project
That's fine, as I said I have no problem buying/fitting its just more hoses to run down that side of the engine
I will fit it in the drivers wheel arch, with some sort of duct/deflector for the airflow (I was going to put a PAS cooler here) and put the PAS cooler in-inline with the pipe behind the front valance below the rad and cooler.
Still, I don't remember Mikee having one but with an extra 100bhp you'd hope he did.

Third picture down. It doesn't use it's own radiator, just goes inline with one of the heater matrix hoses.

No. It cools the engine oil with the water in the cooling system

TBH not everybody fits oil temp/pressure gauges, so not everyone knows if their oil is at healthy pressures or temperatures. I didn't know how it would all work out, so wanted to know for sure what was going on to prevent any nasty surprises.
