jonyb4 :i think that colour is for a interior light? :oooh:

Interior lights should always be grey/yellow.

That's wracking my brains a little tbh. On that side there should be the airbag wiring, wiring to the door(s) for stuff like central locking and ummm...

Well my Roose hoses turned up today, not particularly impressed! I'm missing a throttle body hose, the hose for my PAS pump to tank, one of my intercooler hoses doesn't have the fluro lining and they didn't send me my £40 worth of jubilee clips!

Also the thermostat top to header tank hose also had a load of plastic in it (about 30cm long) and lastly it looks like I forgot to order the water hose from the front of the thermostat to the heater matrix!

I got the throttle body one today, it's too small for my pipe so my fault.

Clips probably got sent today. The main issue Is that the water pump hose isn't fitting well at all. The Samco one was ok, so this is obviously slightly different.

They had a family funeral which is unfortunate, so blamed it on non family I think!

Bit of progress today, mainly hoses all attached.

Might start it tomorrow, but I don't have any form of breather system!

Not all the hoses are connected in that pic ;)

Lee @ Fusion ended up sourcing that oil feed adaptor for me.

Also, have you retained just the single breather on the cam cover, or is there an additional one I haven't see? Mark had a second welded to the one on my old engine, which wasn't the worst idea IMO. If you DO plan of adding one, don't put it where mine was. The emulsified oil used to run back down the port (which was vertical, and not above any baffles) and drop onto the camshaft beneath it. Oil + water + camshaft isn't beneficial!

I'm not used to replying to so many people!

Jon, From memory I think it was supposed to be 270bhp/300lbft but I am probably going to be limited to my smaller cooler and things getting hot! If It can do 250 I will be happy, but anything would be nice!

Ryan, Its a crappy heavy airtec thing. It was available and I bought it but it is standard FRST size so quite small.

James, I left the header tank hose off as I need to look at the wiring tomorrow and didn't want it in the way! It has one breather on the cam cover, Mikee was running everything as is so I haven't really messed around with much. I need to get a breather pot and there is also a breathable Mocal catch tank that he was using as well.

Well today was the day!

I filled the coolant and PAS reservoirs yesterday, fitted a few more hoses then this afternoon I had a quick look at the wiring and primed the turbo. After a few failed starts, Ryan and a mate helped me identify that the Amal (and earth!!!) wasn't connected. After this, the car fired perfectly as per the video below.

With the chip in though, it runs like crap - I thought I'd sold the wrong chip, but it turns out the right one is in so I'm not sure why it trys to stall and misses a bit with the chip in. I also need to sort my breather system and Amal valve.

I know the exhaust isn't very subtle, for now I will be keeping it as I have other stuff to do and I think its funny. Makes it look like a chive-box 1.1  Nearly bought some lexus lights, but I will stick with the RS ones for now (once I've removed some scuffs from them)

At some point I will get some other tips made and hopefully have interchangeable ones!

So good, Max! So pleased to see you've finally got there! :D

I do think you should change the tip of the exhaust to one that's no larger than the diameter of the rest of the system. You'll have so much fun with it anyway, and I know when I look at sleepers, something that doesn't look chavvy impresses me far more! When I was at Mallory Park the other week, there was a very quick car out on track with a silly bumper and Lexus lights, but I just couldn't appreciate it because it looked so tacky and you wonder to yourself all the time whether the owner actually thinks it looks good! I don't think to myself "haha, that's a sneaky look!"... Just my thought!!!

Today I got it running well with the chip, it wasn't seating correctly.

I fixed the rev counter as for some reason the wire was cut. My 'blank' rev counter seemed to be reading low, so I installed a '2E' one which I've not checked yet as it was 8pm and I'm still adjusting to the exhaust noise and I hope my neighbours are too!!

I need to fix the temp sender, I've swapped the loom pin from 9 to 12 and cut the wire out of the car loom. It doesn't seem to be working though, not sure if it needs an earth?

Lastly I have coolant leaking from somewhere near the thermostat and also from the plastic Y thing at the back of the engine. I may have this re made in metal.

So I seem to have fixed my two water leaks.

First off, the car didn't have a thermostat in, so I replaced the O ring and put a thermostat in but I also cut it open removing the stat. Mikey said it ran fine before, so I'm going to leave it as is for now.

The second one, the split Y thing behind the engine has been replaced with an alloy one Lee @ Fusion Fabrication made me.

I earthed the water temp gauge sender, but it still doesn't work. If I wire it directly to the dials, it does. Not sure what is going on here!
