Yea theyre two 12" 1600 watt subs with a max output of 3200watts and 1000watts rms!
I'm running them on a "vibe slick" amp which is running at about 700 watts at the moment i think. The sound is very clear and crisp and never destorts. Its definately on par if not better than the big 2000w pioneer subs that were out a while ago but i think that the sound u get really depends on what amp and head unit you run it with.
If u max it out it makes all the hairs on ur face and legs tingle and u can feel it all through ur body. I would definately advise goin with vibe cos all of their subs that i'v heard are very impressive

Are they the Space 12'' subs? Becuase they are 1000w RMS, and only have an xmax of 14mm
Id be very careful about cranking that amp as its no where near powerful enough for those subs...im guessing the amps 700w Max Power which means about 250w RMS for 2 subs needing 2000wRMS
Id be very whery of any company that sells its subs in a bandpass box becuase you just know they arnt going to be very bassy otherwise esp. with only 14mm xmax

ok the total rms for both subs is 1000 watts I think lol. They are black air 2 subs.
my amp Power is as follows:
power @ 4 ohms 1 x 300 WRMS
Power bridged @ 2 Ohms 1 x 600 WRMS
Power @ 1 Ohm 1 x 1300 WRMS
i think its currently at 2 ohms but i am running the subs in for a while befor i turn anything up real loud and i assure you guys the sound is excellent. Will soon be messing around with the gain ect but at the mo i'm happy with the way it souds .
Not to worried about busting the cones because thats what the warrenty is for

can i invite you to hear my Pioneer's please? and please PM SuperAl and ask him if you can have a listen to his Pioneer 305C sub which i reckon will be louder than your pair of 12's
if wired in parallel your running the amp at 2 ohms giving 600wrms @ 14.4v hence about 500-550 wrms for the pair of subs....its enough to drive them...but also enough to crack the cones without a doubt...
oh and please dont count on the warentee....unfortunately, audio manufacturers come up with every excuse under the sun to get out of giving out a new product or even repairing the old unit!!!

they crack because the cones are crap and thats putting it lightly....
to be honest, there is nothing you can do to make it sound better without hearing the setup before hand...however, the only thing that i can recommend is that you set up the system so that there is NO distortion whatsoever anywhere in the system...after that, its just a matter of uprated other speakers in the car etc etc

Well it doesn't distort at the moment and i'm not trying to sound like a no it all but it really does sound fuckin great, alot better than alot of my mates systems who are also running twin 12"s. Also every review of the blackair 2 subs has been good as i checked before buying em. Whats subs do u have???
Would i have to change the wiring to run it on 1 ohm as i havn't a fuckin clue lol.

The human ear cannot detect distortion of bass frequency's. The only way to ensure the system is set up properly is to use a scope

human ear can detect distortion u just need to know what your listening for...its difficult but with the help of a voltmeter the system can be setup safely...i have been doing this for years without a burnt coil i do agree with tiny amounts of distortion its inaudiable, but when its to such a degree where its dangerous for the speakers, its easy to hear

sounds kool i'll have to pop down for a listen one day n u can have a go at setting my system up better or something
I usually dont have it turned anything like full blast anyways thaugh cos i like the whole system to sound as even and equil as possible. Spent hours setting ma equiliser presets up n stuff lol.
diablosvy - I'v got a sub sonic filter on ma amp so that helps get rid of alot of what can't b heard, which i think helps a bit.

niracka - mounting the subs like that isn't a very good idea, with half of them covered by the tailgate..they will be loaded all wrong when your playing with the boot open.
diablosvy - you can't damage subs by underpowering them... and that isn't a bandpass box.
Vibe happen to be very reputable for their cutomer service aswell, i should know, they have paid for me to go to every show so far this year

When did I say it did?
Yes it is a bandpass box, it uses a tube as the port hence being called a 'bandpass'

You really don't know what bandpass means do you..
Bandpass is when the sub is 'inside' the box...like this:
It doesn't have anything to do with whether a tube or slot is used as the port, so don't roll your eyes, tool.
bassboy the system at the mo is an RE HC18, running off a Solid F2500d

nice subs, but even with 1600w i doubt they would sound as loud/better as the 2000w pioneers considering the two pioneer subs have more peak and rms power output then two vibes.i just replaced the same vibes as you for one 3000w pioneer ported and it so much louder then the vibes

how much Bass can Metro need
Are any other of the speakers replaced? Upgrading them would most likely be a better use of money, as i imagine 2 ported 12''s sound quite heavy already.
