**making mods, tell insurance yes or no?
I am 17 and had my last 1.6 si written off , luckly i had full insurance it cost me £1200 under my old man's name though. However i'm still going to get another 1.6 si and want to put an induction kit and boost value a few little bits peices on it, do you think it would be worth telling the insurance?
Do you think there is much difference between the k & n induction and the piper cross viper considering price?

In general, it's best to tell, or ASK your insurance company about what you're going to do. If they want more, then pay it. Otherwise, if you have an accident, and the company see what you've done, and don't know about it, your cover will be void, and you'll have bills to pay. So ALWAYS ask your insurers if anything you do will add to your premium.

Well done heeman10, right answer
Always let your insurance company know about any changes.
As for using a Pipercross Viper, well i personaly think they are just overpriced and probably wont give u anything extra over a traditional cone filter.
cheers

Yeah they wanted £2000 on my own for a 1.1. What cams did you fit you say they made the pick up slower, how much did you pay for them?

YES YES YES YES YES
If you hit another car/ another car hits you then you are not covered as by not telling them about engine/body mods it voids your agreement.

From what i've read people are saying the induction kits and boost valves are not that good but actually make it pick up slower or do something negative. Is there anything worth doing that would cost less than about £250 , i was just looking for a bit more back end power and acceleration not top end speed.

My insurance has just been renewed today, and believe it or not, i declared
performance exhaust, air filter, alloys and it hasnt changed my premium.
Cos power gain aint increased over 5bhp but had to write and send pics of mods that have changed car cosmetically etc. Jobs a g00d un
Allso police cant touch you if alls been declared and if in unlucky event of crash you will be covered.
Declare em mate or like others have said, insurance will be void if you crash. Last thing you want to do is run into back of a merc with void insurance =/
