Nothing you can do. Strip it completely, take all the glass out, run on half a tank, don't take fat dave to maccyD's on friday night. That engine will be well past it now so theres nothing you can economically do apart from get rid of things to make it lighter.
People are taking the piss cos that exact Q is asked about once a month.
Remember, there is no replacement for displacement unless you want to be efficient and stick dirty big high boosting turbos on.

Re: making my car faster
A serious answer mate is new engine, 2.0l is the easiest. If you can't insure one the best advise is to sit tight accumulate some NCB and do it in a year or so. Personally I prefer the Flintstones idea though.

Re: making my car faster
a lad on fiesta network had stuff like lightened and balanced bottom end, bored out, cams, exhaust and manifold system, sports cat, port and polished head and a whole host of other stuff along with a full remap and got 96bhp i think from memory. But the point being, he spent a fortune, and well....its not quicker than a 1400 standard zetec.
For relitavely similar cost, a 2l mondeo engine would go in i woulda thaught.

well if he only got about 96bhp i dont see any point in spending all that money lol well i cant afford to insure a 2.0l well i wouldnt get touched seeing as im 17 im paying too much 4 it allready lol im gonna get rid of it any way becuase next door neighbour had a look at it and its got a shedload of things need replacing and i cant be arsed with it any more out of interest though how much are we looking at for a 2.0l engen and to fit it and stuff like that

Re: making my car faster
why dont you get a 2l from a mondeo and put it in your garage. Stripe it all down, following a haynes, make it mint, and turbo it etc etc. Learn a lot. Then within a year youll be able to afford it.
If i had my time again thats what i would do

I didnt look at that bit sorry... The solenoids are prob the most important bit, apart from having gas in the bottle so i dont think i'd risk making some...
