mitchrs4 :and steve can confirm tht aswel [ERRR] i was obviously concentrating on the road only had a 2 second glance when he was sat there stunned :o spill the beans then and tell me in the pm what this lil trick up ur sleeve is. This anything lukes using by any chance?

Yeah defo, the speedo was 100% all the way round (on the private land)......... BUT the gps was well under what the clocks would have said. Thye were too dark, couldn't read them

Make me chuckle tho, Mitch's idea of a 'soft' gear change is how i drive mine hard............ my turbo has an easy time with me

jonyb4 :
jayrs :swapping the rear lenses sounds a better idea, or as i say, bung a red bulb in.
reverse light doesnt come into MOT

fog light can be anywhere on the rear mate, ka's have two one in each lamp

unless you have 1, then it has to be drivers side (or at least the middle maybe)

Reference the comment about the speedo being way off / under-reading. It has always over-read in the MANJ because the Vehicle Speed Sensor reads the pulses from the toothed wheel on the crownwheel on the gearbox, so when you have wheels with a smaller overall rolling circumference than those of a standard ST170, the speedo will think you're going faster that what you are.

One way around it is to do what I had to do on my current project and use a frequency modifier (speedo-healer) or otherwise somehow hack into the PCM to change the speedo calibration. Or just keep the GPS there! :bonkers:

jonyb4 :i didnt mean it in a bad way jimmy :(

I know! Chill out mate, I genuinely took it as a compliment and am grateful, thanks :) - I guess I must have come across as a sarky c*nt in my original reply

The ST dials really look good in a fiesta, Ive loved that mod since day 1. Such a beautiful car.

That looks like gunwharf car park to me ;)

Camber on the rear wheels = :Q

haha he knows how to pick them dont he jon lol.danny the cambers actualy really help the cars to stay stable my frst(one in sig) is just a total lil go cart no where near as stable but still great fun :Q cheers leigh i am well chuffed the more i drive it the more im enjoying it.

jon sounds silly but with pumping the brakes it makes a huge differance on stopping power so im hoping theres just a s**t load of air in the system and the ful bleed thro sat will transform them.will keep u posted.

recieved a brand new set of st170 selector cables today so cheers darren for getting them ordered so they are ready to fit sat morning :D .piece by piece its slowly coming together so once the lil pieces are sorted as started before i can get flocking and chase my local painter up.just gotta try saving my money rather than spending it.got payed yesterday and already spent it all, and im soz to say its not on the fezza :(

as you say the camber on the rear is probably one of the best things you could do to a fiesta :Q if its loads of air in the brakes ill be pissed!! pressure bled them about ten times  as you say pumping the pedal helps loads...was thinking about a residual pressure valve..it basically holds some of the pressure there for when you next stamp on the pedal :Q

yh sounds good to me with how they are at mo lol.yh well im hoping it is [ERRR] it will save a huge head ache of sorting it somehow.(no disrespect) lol o yh had it up on a ramp and had a look and the drivers front the pad isnt even in full contact with the disk thts how little pressure is getting to the discs/pads :o time will tell

Going back to the subject of camber on the rear (ill look through the old MANJ project thread in a min to see if i can see it) but how do you put negative camber on the rears? My Si is on AVO coilovers pretty low and from what I can see - well last time i looked, the tyres were still more or less horizonal to the ground.

I just wanted to know for my own knowledge really, dont think ill do it unless i track it loads. Which might happen this year lol

its all been done in the rear beam danny..as the beam was shortened buy jimmy (for the focus rs hubs) they have added the camber at the same time..could be done with shims behind the rear hubs :)

I thought shims would be the way to do it without any major modification to the rear beam. I might look into it in the future :)

quick update.all rear lights sorted with a quick bit of wiring and the selector cables on and in the holders :D

time to get on the brakes.Jon ull like this but may piss u off from one of your previous posts.rite then 1st of all we started to take the cap off the resivour for the fronts, in tht process fluid started to piss out of the bottom :o so the fluid got drained out of the holder and the holder wasnt tight.literally finger tight im supprised i hadnt had a engine bay full of fluid to be honest.once done up nice and tight the wheels came off and started the bleed.on the passenger frnt there was a few bubbles which came out, so not a huge amount of air in the system.when we moved over to the drivers side that was another thing. cracked the nipple off and bingo we had enough air to live on for a day.so bled all thro until we had a constant stream of fluid obviously.

with that said the brakes are alot better but still not great so ill go back and do a full bleed on all the brakes and hopefuly it will solve the issue.(well i hope so lol)

thats all for now but least the ball is rolling a little bit now and things are getting sorted :Q

 that air must of been hiding in there from me but your 'enthusiastic' driving has scared it out :D as for the fluid pots you do need to keep hold of them as you undo the caps other wise you will physically unscrew them . all sounds good though, i like to moody night shots.... it never went out after dark with me
