max bhp you can get from a chip??
could someone explain the bhp indications of chips??
i know you can get 165 and 195 chip so does this mean that they are restricted to do that bhp??
UNI-CHIPS are re-mappable, so does this mean that they have unlimited bhp??
cheers

Have a read of the tuning section for an explanation as to the ratings. Basically it's the manufacturers claimed power for that chip conversion package.
Theoretically you can have an engine with a 165 chip producing more. For example a 2.1 16v with a T3, headwork, etc could be run off a std FRST ecu with a 165 chip at 12psi and produce more than 165bhp. Ideally it would be custom mapped but it would run.

A chip (on a turbocharged car) generally works together with an uprated actuator to increase the boost (from say the standard 8psi to maybe 15psi).
On a standard car, this may generally equate to about 195bhp. However, that's pretty much s**t. If you run 15psi (1 bar) boost on a standard rs turbo (escort), it won't be 195bhp at the flywheel - perhaps around 170-180.. If you have a cam, head modifications, hybrid turbo etc, then sure, you'd be looking at more near 200bhp with this '195 chip'..
