Megasquirt
Hello everyone, i havent been on here for a while so i thought i show my name an get some info whilst im at it
Im after some info about the megasquirt ecu, frankly im overwhelmed by the amount of sites and stuff on this ecu i dont know where to begin I am not interested in people cursing the system because of its cheap, however i welcome constructive critism. Basically i want to try it out on a standard fiesta zetec-s before i go any further, i list my questions if anyone can help?
What is the best version of hardware and software thats currently available?
Where can i buy a ready assembled megasquirt with all nessaciary looms, software and any other bits i may need?
Are there individuals/companies who are experienced in fitting/mapping these?
Does it function as a piggyback system inbetween the engine sensors and standard ecu to retain the ecu's features? Or does it completely take it over and you loose the pats/alarm/dash ect functions?
How reliable have they been proven im concerned about its ability to cope with heat, vibrations and day to day ability to run an engine reliably.
how does it cope with seqential fueling using a maf to map rather than map sensors, does it give a good drive and economny?
thanks for looking
