MFI and EFI head not the same?

Postby goglahey on Wed Nov 17, 2004 9:41 am

I have heard that the MFI head (ERST) end the EFI head (FRST) is not the same and that you can't fit a EFI injection manifold on a MFI head?

Can this be true and if so is there something that can be done about it, like a adaptor plate or something? :-?

I know this have been up before but there has never been any actual answer :(

Cheers Allan

Something to do with the injectors, the EFI head has cut outs for them and the MFi head doesn't, sure theres a few other little differences too.

You can buy adaptor plates, i've seen them on ebay

Thanks

yeap. The main difference is the cut outs "pockets" for the injectors on the EFI head.
Dont go for the adaptor plate. The injectors would stay even further from the inlet valves and thats not good for slow rpm driving... but who drives at low rpm?!

Find a EFI head from a XR2i or FRST. There are plenty of them going at every street corner.
