Mike's Azura.... RIP

Well you'll have to pay the £260 if you want to keep the car is the only thing you can do - or let them take it and scrap it.

At the end of the day, the car could be on the road for 30 seconds and its still illegal. Leaving it 3 whole days was a bit silly though to be fair.

I'd rather pay the £260 than cut the clamp off and the DVLA sending you a £1000 fine to be honest.

Needs a valid MOT and insurance to tax it.

If it's clamped on a front wheel, dismantle the front hub and remove it that way, then phone them up telling them it's lying in the road doing nothing and that they should collect it before someone nicks it

+ 1 but leave the number plate tucked under in. and seeing the'll cruch it (the wheel and number plate) you won't be able to put it on the road again. seeing the cars dead i'd strip it leave a wheel with untouched clamp, numberplates and cut chassis number out and put that with it put in a cardboard box and give it to them.

Have had my car clamped before , remove the clamp but do not damage it. From memory I just popped the wishbone out and slid the chains off but there are different types of clamps, then I'd leave the clamp there with a letter saying due to you not fitting the clamp properly I have moved my car back to a secure off road parking until such time as it is fully legal to be on the road. I'd take the clamp off and stick the car back in the lock up especially if they don't have the address of the lock up

I've had advice off a lot of people now and it's ranged from criminal damage to surrendering the car...

Anyway, this happened.

After seeing those photos, what was stopping you parking it outside the garage off the road? There's enough space between the door and the pavement there.

Calling them c**ts is like Mick Philpott calling the cops c**ts.

Does sound quite dodgy to be fair.

According to the government guidelines you could have paid a £100 release fee and got it off the road. If it is going to be stored on the road then you have to present a tax disc. I'm not sure where £260 comes from, and if it was only clamped yesterday then it wouldn't be crushed until next week - it should only be impounded...

and if you use "i never have any time for it" one more time ima start swinging, its complete nutsack!

because let me tell you there is far busier people out there!
take mark stewart for example, the man does like 60 hour weeks, yet he still manages to travel to his parents and gets so much done to the fiesta project

your just lazy and dont want to work on it, now your glad its been taken away aint you

That may be what the guidelines say nick but that's not the case.

You 100% HAVE to tax the vehicle and pay the £100 release fee or pay £250 to get the clamp taken off.

I definitely got what I wanted yeah jony, I wanted to spend a lot of money on a car for it to be taken away. Nice.
