Mike's Azura.... RIP
Re: Mike's Azura. Filler/Fiberglass Q's
If your wanting to fill the lines without plastic welding, drill holes along the recess and use fibreglass filler and push it throug the holes and smooth it along the back of the recess too. then a skim of filler on the top. I used this method before with no cracking at all

id go for fiberfiller, im using it and its very strong, and less likely to crank as the fibers are interlaced

That sounds sick, where you get that from?
You can post it matt, I'll let you hahaha - should hopefully have the first layer of what ever I use sorted tomorrow!
Now for the colour - I'm thinking gloss black or colour coded?

im not sure my old man found it through a retired body specialist who did his mk1
you know its the one when you see the green filler, and you can clearly see all the fiber strands in it, but apart formt hat its used like normal filler, hardner the lot

Gloss black for the bumpers!! If you had gloss black bumpers and gloss black pepperpots i think it would look good, and different!!

I'm gonna do mine myself, I may do the wheels a different colour and get the polished lip back!
Yeah I'm getting some tax back over the next 6 months so hopefully I'll have coilovers before fitp!

So do I! In reality all I need to do is fit my brakes and I should buy another 1.8 because that others probably f**cked .
I have a question... Do I need a better fuel pump?

Re: Mike's Azura. Filler/Fiberglass Q's
yeah, youre one will run out of puff and not keep up with the demand
any fiesta 1.6 or 1.8 one will do (well apparently earlier ones are slightly different)
id go for another 1800, if i remember right and your current is a RS1800 engine, you have the cams for a pov spec 1800 so you can bump the 115/105 figure to 130 fine
you even have the sump, pick up and water pump there s you can even buy a mondeo 1800, spoilt for choice really
yet again same applies for a 2.0

Nice one Jon!
It'll be whatever comes first for the right price!
So you're saying I have the change the sump too? I think I did well getting the rs1800 for the price I did.

Re: Mike's Azura. Filler/Fiberglass Q's
only have to change the sump & pick up on the mondeo lumps, water pump also
but obviusly a 105 escort 1.8 carries far less of a price tag typically compared to a RS1800 or 3i 130 engine, considing you have your cams already you could make a saving
on the flip side, if say a 105 AND RS1800 both come up, and theres less than £30 between them, g for the RS engine and sell your current engines cams for £30 no doubt, making you gain if you follow?

Re: Mike's Azura....
I might be loosing my job, I'm not 100% on it yet but I overheard a conversation and thing havnt been great at work recently.
Both cars might have to go, I hope it doesn't come to that though as it would mean this would definitely have to go as the polo has 5months tax/11 mot and is insured til August
I'll update if anything happens but it might not be good news.

Re: Mike's Azura....
sounds more like the polo has to go personally
not biased or anything, but it is worth more, has tax and test, which will make it sell easier and for more, also its costing you to keep it... the fiesta doesnt
sorry for the news though man, probably best to start looking for a new job early incase it happens

Re: Mike's Azura....
Because there might be stuff on Facebook and then I'll get s**t on here ect... So was just preparing you all haha.
In a perfect world I could keep both and hopefully it won't come to getting rid, obviously the fiesta isn't costing me anything but it needs money spending to be fixed - I also still need a car as I have commitments so selling the polo isn't ideal either!
I'm going to ask on Monday about what was said, hopefully get closure about it and be able to resolve the situation!
