Re: Mike's RS1800 Azura. NEW PICTURES
Some pictures of the engine... Also going to do bottom arms and fit the speedo cable today but I figured you've all seen that so Im not gonna take pictures...
May have got an engine mount but it's out of an escort so may cause an issue... Also went to see shell Thursday and should be picking up the interior from her fiesta tomorrow
Anyway;
This is after a 30 minute battle an giving up on ever getting it in my car
And a 30 minute battle to get it out
Bent that? What is it?
The inlets seen better days, I've seen worse though
The block isn't all that bad!
There's no water seeped past the plugs and the head gaskets fine, should have everything to get it in by next week.
Also, there was some pipes attached to a little black box coming off the manifold, what's is it

Bent the fuel pressure regulator The black box with pipes... is it a small box or just a big bigger than your hand? Either the EGR thing or the carbon cannister malarky thing.

How long has it been stood for?
Personally I'd be stripping it, doing the headgasket, belt and pulleys for piece of mind, thats just me mind
Going to clean it up before you put it in? Just clean it back and paint it black!

The belt/clutch and things are all pretty new. Know the car it came from and it's not been used for a while do...
Gonna get new gaskets, paint the rocker cover and whack it in, as it stands the car is just getting worse and I've hardly messed with it.
Getting supper pissed off though

Please please please do the timing belt while you have it out of the car, even if it is said to be new!

Re: Mike's RS1800 Azura. NEW PICTURES
Im slightly curious what you expected to have to do when you decided to do an engine conversion? Timing belt is a standard affair really, your a bit silly if you dont do it while its out of the car, they only cost about £45 and a water pump at about £20. Have you checked that the engine turns over? How come you seem to get fairly ok cars and appear to ruin them over a period of a few months? Just try and keep on top of the basics if you have no money, put a bit aside each month then complete the conversion when you have the money to make it worthwhile.
P.S what happened to the black zs you had in the end?

This is it, I havnt touched it, it was fine when I bought it an now everything has gone wrong at once, it looks like Im s**t with them and mess but I havnt.
Its what I expected but I wasn't planning on it being so soon but now I'm having to rush it or else I wont have a car.
The zs got scrapped because I got annoyed with it and it upset me.

Re: Mike's RS1800 Azura. NEW PICTURES
HCS's generally do that. Either try adjusting the tappets or put some thicker oil in it.
Please dont get angry with it, take the engine out or dismantle it, not be able to fit the new engine then get angry about that and scrap the car.

I'm trying my hardest! I have the temperament of a pregnant 18 year old!
I will finish it. It will be at ford fair. But it's driving me up the wall, not even arsed about the conversion, that's fine. It's the car itself that just seems to be fudgekin up...

To be fair, my pregnant 19yr old sister has better temperament than you lol
Please get that belt and water pump done, I made the fatal mistake of doing that on our Astra Sport and a month down the line it went and took 8 valves with it, It's easy to do and you'll have piece of mind that it's been done! Would be extremely stupid not to

Get a video up of the engines rattles, it might not be what you think, hcs are noisey old engines, most if them don't even mind not having oil in them, which makes them even louder
if its not so bad then stop rushing the 1.8 conversion, get the car ready to take the engine first, I've said this.from the start

Currently doing the bottom arms, which are f**cked beyond belief!
So that will fix my steering issues except for the fact that only one of my new ones are rose jointed :/
It's the type of rattle that reminds you of a beyblade spinning on one of those s**t plastic arenas. Not the tappets...

Wrong arms then. Probably got non power steering ones instead of power steering ones, or the other way around depending if you have power steering or not

Reg doesn't always come up with the right parts. It's a known fact with car parts. They normally just use that to get the basic info on the car like its a fiesta made in whatever year, here is a list of parts which will probably fit.
