MISSFIRE AFTER CHANGING INLET MANIFOLD

Postby martyb1800xr2i on Fri Feb 10, 2006 4:36 pm

changed my inlet manifold from a 105psi xr2i to a RS1800 although i have a matching injector rail from the RS i didnt change them because injectors had same codes / numbers on them. Is there a difference in size or shape, if so would this explain why after fitting the manifold i have a nasty missfire from the car?

i used the same gaskets and changed the idle control valve, sparks and leads should be fine. i changed the manifold back to the original 105psi one to try and reolve this missfire and still it does it im kinda lost for ideas? anyone help, my only guess is that i have an air leek or something maybe from a damaged gasket but im really unsure? HELP

spray some carburettor cleaner around the manifold gasket while the engine is running,if the revs pick up you have an air leak.

Sounds like an air leak issue. Also, Have you checked your injectors are sealed properly and not leaking? Another thing to check is your fuel pressure.

HTH :)
