Mk 3.5 struts

I need to know for sure.

Is there any difference between the mk 3 rear struts and the mk 3.5 ones?

Im just having a little trouble with suspension at the moment and need to sought out some things.

Yes, Mk3 lowering kit will not fit on, nor will any other type of mk3 suspension.

THey do fit, i have them fitted. What is not meant to fit then:

The length?
The diameter?
The cups at the top and bottom?
Or the poundage of the springs?

Or is the 'uprated' suspension from the mk 3 to the mk 3.5 just the damping?

i tried to put my suspension from my mk3.5 si on to my mk3 frst and couldnt get the struts to fit in the hub, the strut diameter was to big.
1800 ZVH turbo on 18s
