Mk1 track toy

Postby Ratspeed on Sun Oct 31, 2010 8:45 pm

Well, since the Plantpot Plus is to nice to chop up and abuse on track, me and a mate have gone halves on this.

Its origionaly a 1300 ghia,
painted ( a bit badly) in white
Lowered
XR2 brakes, rear braided hoses, mk2 XR2 servo,
4 branch and system
xr2 clocks
new clutch
peppers
mk2 tailgate
supersport/xr bulge rear
Stripped out with a bucket( that ive broke already!!)
Rivetted over sunroof
and loads of patches inside and badly fitted wings!!!

Ive only seen it in the dark but its in need of a good machining over.
I've just had a quick blast around town and its on rails and revs past 7000rpm!!

heres some dark piccys

Yes mate, it has digital ignition and im unsure what carb it has on. i'll get some daylight pics up asap.
Its far from mint and has been painted black, then recently white. But it was £350 so i cant moan.

£350 is really cheap, mk1 rolling shells normally go for more than that.

Righto, parts gathering has started.

I now have:

2 alloy rear interior panels
2 black trimmed rear interior panels
2 black xr2 boot boards
Pair of black Securon 3 point harnesses
fixed back bucket seat for the Driver
I'll repair and put the bucket thats in the drivers side in the passenger side

Roll on weekend! :Q

And a couple of dirty daylight pics

Good news jony!

I think they are about 60-70 as standard so it should be somewhere near.
I have found a mk4 for the missus, but i might have to tax and insure this one for me too! Saves bringing the plantpot out in crappy weather when i want some retro fun!

Whatever the power its putting out its a fun little car.I just cant wait to get it how i want it and drive it! i think its gonna be my daily for a while when its done :D

More parts brought home today, Mk1 xr2 spoiler and bucket. Just not sure what subframes i need to fit. Its probably gonna be a case of drill the floor where it touches!!

I noticed today that the Brake lines run inside the car with a bias valve too! And ive got the materials coming to make a strut brace.
Friday and saturday are booked off work so weather permitting i should be able to get cracked on with it!

Task list will be:
Paint inside floor satin black
fit buckets and harnesses
Fit interior panels
Clean up and machine polish
Fit air filter
make strutbrace and fit
Tidy the bay up
Fit spoiler
