Re: MK2 Fiesta Ghia - Low and Slow. *More new wheels*
Minstral :too much arch gap here
I know, it's really bugging me. As soon as some second hand coilovers come up for sale I'll have them.

Re: MK2 Fiesta Ghia - Low and Slow. *More new wheels*
Picked up a roof rack for cheaper yesterday. I like it, I just need to cut the legs on it so it sits closer to the roof. Also got a new rear bumper as the old one was really ratty (Thanks Ken) and the chrome was missing. I've put new chrome in the bumper and all the side moldings down the drivers side, hopefully I should get the passengers side done before FITP.

Very nice Jamie! Once the roof rack sits closer to the car it should look even better

As a few people know I made some pretty big claims at fitp about booking track time at ford fair and taking on toby on the track well today I started the wheels in motion. I'll let the pictures below do the talking. Plans for the engine are fast road cam, twin 40 down draft carbs, 4-2-1 and maybe some head work. Id like 120-130bhp ideally.

bra
nice lump - hope you give it a good flush out if its been sat for a while.
remember you will need to upgrade the fuel feed line to a 8mm pipe if yours aint already a 8mm.
shouldt need to change tank as you keeping the car side of things

Yep 1.6 CVH. Its an early one out of a mk3 Escort so chances are it is a Hemi head. Hope find out later today when I get the head off.

The have bigger inlet and exhaust valves (If I remember correctly) than the post 86 heads know as lean burn heads. Hemi heads as standard produce between 5-7bhp more over a lean burn head

sounds a peach, ripe for turboing throw some RS pistons in and you got it underway

Re: MK2 Fiesta Ghia - Low and Slow. *New engine*
Turboing it is tempting but I'm gunna keep it old school with carbs. I'm not looking for stupid power. A mk2 with 140bhp has the same power to weight ratio as a 4x4 saph cossie apparently?

The sledge went well with that CVH in it. Never got a chance to get it on the rollers before I started taking the engine apart though.
