mk2 xr2 roll bar

Postby demolition_man on Tue Mar 15, 2005 7:01 pm

i'm bringing my 1.0 up to xr2 spec and i could do with knowing how the rear anti roll bar is fitted to the XR2, will i need to change the axle or can i buy the mounting bracket seperate?

Also does anyone know how much roughly i can expect to pay for an engineers report when i have put the new engine in? Thanks Alot! Aid

You shouldnt really need an enigneers report once you've done the engine swap. If your insurers want it, then you're either too young, or they're anal to the point of stupidity.

Re the rear ARB. Theres two brackets which bolt to the underside of the boot floor, to these two brackets you then bolt a 'p' clip, more commonly known as an ARB retaining clip.
A bush sits inside them, and inside the bush sits the ARB!

As far as the axle goes, no mods will be needed per say. As the ARB bolts to the same point that the lower shock mount goes onto, you just need a slighly longer bolt which will encompass the girth of the ARB. Done! :aviator:
