Re: mk3 1.3/1.1 rs rep
Right, here goes:
1996 1.1burgandy N reg mk3.5 3dr
Genuine frst bodykit, bumpers, bonnet, alloys, green strips
130k miles BUT reconditioned engine, gearbox, clutch at 101k (the reason for changing the old engine was emissions failure on MOT. Car was subsequently off the road for a couple months while pretty much all the running gear was replaced)
MOT until November
Tax until December
This was my first car some 7 years ago since 68k mile and I use it every day at least 30 miles & the only thing that has ever gone wrong is the alternator & an indicator relay.
Bad bits with the car are:
Paint has gone a little flat where the kit / bonnet was sprayed to match the car & also a little where car park dings were filled in at the same time, although when polished it's hardly noticeable and there are a few tiny dings where people have opened doors against it, but no broken paint or big dents, just tiny ones.
Rust - obviously it's a 12 year old fiesta so has a couple of scabs here & there on boot but petrol cap area is solid as is the rest of the car & I would say it's really not bad at all.
Some play in steering rack, but it's perfectly fine to drive.
In summary if you're after a cheap frst / xr2i replica for a runabout you could do a lot worse & as said before the only time it's packed up on me in 62k miles is when the alternator died.
I would say the only thing it needs to finish it off now is some recaros if you wish & maybe a frst steering wheel as the original ones are a bit tired now.
I can be around evenings & weekends if you want to come & take a look / test drive.
I'm after somewhere close to £500 for it or if you didn't want wheels, green stripes I'm sure we could sort something a bit cheaper.
Let me know bud.
Cheers.
