mk3 1.3 needs some life
hey all
im new to this forum so expect some stupid questions
i dont know a treat deal about tuning but ice is my speciality.
i have a 1994 mk3 1.3 frascati. the engine i have been told is the old pushrod type. its a gutless heap of s**t made worse with a few KG of ice.
what can i do to this engine to make it more exciting. im seriously considering an rs turbo lump to go in there instead. is this an easy thing to do? and any ideas where in the southeast of the uk there is anyone to do it.
thanks for any help and if u have any ice questions just ask. i sort of do it for a living
baz

I take it that your car has single point injection??
If you want to change for an RST lump you basically need a whole frt end of an RST to get the Engine, box, shaft's,engine mount's(the cvh and zetec engines all have two more than the pushrod's),wiring loom,etc.....
easier to buy an RST!!

I have got a 1.3 as well and the only thing I have done is change the air filter and exhaust as every other engine mod seems like too much hassle.
If you do want a major jump in power u r better off getting a different car.

I totally agree with Mike. I also have a prehistoric 1.3 HCS lump.
I've fitted a complete Supersprint exhaust-system and a K&N replacement filter (sounds good!).
And that's it. If you want more, you better buy a new car.
