MK3 1.6 CVH Gearbox question
I have a MK3 fiesta with a 1.6 CVH engine and I was told I can use an Escort Series 2 RS Turbo lsd gearbox and that it will bolt straight on to the CVH engine. Is this correct as I have a gearbox in my sights and want to be sure before I commit my hard earned squila!

Yep. It's the same box but with an LSD.

Re: MK3 1.6 CVH Gearbox question
The Escort RS turbo S2 gearbox is exactly the same as a FRST gearbox, appart from:
- The LSD, as the FRST doesn't have it, it has a 'normal' diff.
- The reversing sensor, the Escort one has a different connector then the FRST one
- The arm on the outside of the gearbox that moves the bearing (clutch bearing/thrust bearing or whatever you call it) into the clutchplate.. i've seen different ones being mounted for escort and fiesta.. don't know what the effect will be)
- bolts for cars (either escort/fiesta) with ABS and without ABS differ .. but can be swapped over
- worm-cog/worm gear that is driven by the gearbox for the speedo is different as the speedo and the wheel-diameter differs between the escort mk4 and the fiesta mk3.. if the wrong one is fitted (can be changed from the outside) .. the speedo doesn't show the correct speed (as if it ever does.. hahaha)
The gear ratios between the FRST gearbox and the Escort S2 gearbox are exactly the same. Those differ compared to any other gearbox fitted in a fiesta mk3 or escort mk4
