it suits the colour for me, but not the Si bumper
perhaps its because im so used to seeing them as they were, only with clears

looks awesome with ambers. get amber repeaters too, think it will make it blend a little better with the si bumper

Re: My mk3 Ghia project!!
Not an update, but how would people go about getting rid of rust/rot at the bottom of the pillar, near the scuttle?? Its been getting worse for a while and its just started to look like i could poke a hole in it

Re: My mk3 Ghia project!!
i think its time for you to invest in a grinder! or a wire brush attachment for your drill... find out if its gone all the way through, if not, use either of those tools, get rid of the rust and touch it up with whatever.

Re: My mk3 Ghia project!!
not the best advice mate
will probs end up causing a hole, then what hes got a hole to contend with and not prepared
my mk2 is in a similar boat, and the capri, such a common place, best way to sort it is to take the screen out, plate it and braze aroudn the window seal aputure, not easy though
or even better replace the entire scuttle panel
or you can simply pack the hole thats left after cutting it out, and use fiberglass or even hard resin poly filler to smooth the hole over
but that wont last particularly long, filler tends to sag on deeper use, or worse crack through vibrations
get a picture up to help determine it

Re: My mk3 Ghia project!!
still, its best to wait and to do it all properly before poking it with a screwdriver and risking a hole
rot it rot, im sure you'd want it gone either way

Re: My mk3 Ghia project!!
he wants to sort it before it gets worse... so if theres a hole, theres a hole. no changing that. and as you said, take as much rust away, aslong as the hole isnt too big, fibre filler it. exactly what i did on the valance and it worked a treat

Re: My mk3 Ghia project!!
it does work, but often fails you, i cant say s**t i just done it to the capri lol,, although im expecting it to fail one day, and im keeping an open mind to sorting it at a later date
hopefully once its in my full possession
valance you say? doesnt the Si bumper cover it?
