Re: My mk3 Ghia project!!
you dont need to worry about getting the new ones in as they just slot in without any hassle.
you could burn them out yes. you taking the rear beam off the car?

Re: My mk3 Ghia project!!
no wonder you struggled to get them out ben! you shouldnt leave the beam on the car?!
far easier with the beam off, its only 2 more bolts...
i didnt need to cut nothing, a mallet and a few wacks the thing pops out

Re: My mk3 Ghia project!!
Why would you want to go through all the hassle of undoing 10+ bolts to get the drums and beam off.. or clamp the brake lines ect then have to bleed the brakes, all to replace the bushes - when you can undo 2 bolts and you have full access to them... if you worked in a garage you'd get a kick up the arse for sure! lol

Re: My mk3 Ghia project!!
Found out the little hole on the inner sill is slightly big and stretches to some of the lower sill too!! and the other side has a little hole!! Good design there, making a place for all the water to collect and eat through!! I will add some pics when i can be arsed, probably when its all done!!

Re: My mk3 Ghia project!!
Hi people!! Quite a bit of random fixing today!! The holes in the sills have been prepped, welded and undersealed. The flo flex rear bushes r in!! And just other boring stuff like fixing exhaust blows (about time) lol.
Picture of the worst sill before
Random fiesta floatyness (ripped the splitter off trying to get it on the trailer, then grounded out, so gave up)
Then the bushes fitted
The old bushes came out with a few ehacks of the hammer and the new ones i pushed in with a bit of persausion with my hand. So i was lucky really. I couldnt get a decent picture of the sill after it was welded but its been coated with underseal now so never mind!!

Yeah my old man is a welder so he did the welding part (it would be daft not to really) and i did the holding and trying not to get arc eye!! Lol. Yeah jay my mate had his mk3 go in the same place and so did my gf's mk4 so it seems to be a trend!! it does seem to handle a bit better with these bushes so happy days!!

Then when thats done, i can put the hid's back in and try to tint the back lights red. Was just looking on your threads jay and that rst is immaculate!! I think water just kinda sits there tbh then eats through!!
Anyways i have had a look under the fezz today and there be a dent and a broken clip from said abject hittng the
Bottom not too bad but i have misplaced my jack so i cant do anything about it atm
Some kind of dent
Broken clip
And just a couple of how the car stands now
The only thing i really dont like is the wheels, and the fact that i really need wheel spacers
Well it aint low enough either but thats gonna have to wait

Well i'll have to see what my money situation is like first mike
Yeah my original ford jack got left on a beach (long story) and my decent 1 1/2 ton jack appears to have been borrowed and hasnt been returned yet however it would've explained a lot if that had fell off
