Yeah, I like my colour blue. Just need an Imperial Blue Escort Cosworth to finish of my collection, and also respray the Track Car to Imperial Blue instead of the Java Blue :Q

Hopefully the Track Car will be MOT'ed & TAX'ed ready for show season next year, all depending on money I hope to do some track time at RS Combe & Ford Fair. Will keep the Focus RS of the road for another year, as I have a list of Jobs need doing on it over the year.

Few more bits done other the last few weeks.

First thing was painting and fixing the air ducks in the bumper, just need to setup some hose behind.

Image
Image

Next I started cleaning the 1.8 inlet manifold, due to previous owners poor power coating.

Image
Image

Got myself a dremel drill, so was able clean up some of the inlet sandwich plate which the side feed injector rail fits to.

Image
Image

No got any pics, but I got myself a fuel rail from a 2 litre Mondeo (better than the 1.8 and 1.6 i'm read on here?). Got rid of the brown injectors and fitted my set of Fiesta RS1800 190cc injectors, fitted my new seals & dowels as shown on a previous post into the now clean inlet sandwich plate. Then fitted the fuel rail and the inlet manifold.

Picture of the 1.8 engine ready to be fitted at some point.

Image
Image

As you can see here, I've now moved all my crap and tools to my parents garage from the workshop, bit longer than the average garage. so still got a work bench and space to work, even with the fiesta parked up inside.

Image

Picked up my alloy strut brace yesterday from Steve (rs220bhp), been looking for one for ages. I was chuffed to get it for £35, as the only one i've seen for the 16v mk3 which is a sparco one for £240 from Burton power. Put it on the car to see what its like, just need to bolt it down at some point.

jonyb4 :ive been thinking, it cant be that hared to make a strut brace yourself

£35-£60 is ok, but I deff was not going to pay £240 from Burton Power. I decide if I could not get a cheap second hand one, then like you said I was going to make my own.

jonyb4 :cosy garage, everything is right next to you

Yeah not as much space as the workshop, but its free and just outside so saves me driveing 2 miles up the road. The Focus RS and it bits is about 300 metres around the corner, in my nans garage.

jonyb4 :i like the front vents, might remove my spots and put some black grills there, i like the black holes

I'll pop one out later, to show you how I've done it. I know a lot of people put on the outside, but I thought it did not look right.

I used some plain alloy ones, which I rub down and painted black. You will see on the following pics I had to trim some of the sides off, then I carefully drill two holes for the screws to hold the trumpets into place.

Hope this helps, if you plan on doing it.

Cheers, I like to try and do it right.

jonyb4 :what about the car body work? dont you have to cut/drill away some of the front panel

Yeah, If you look through my previous posts you will see I removed the lower panels. From back and front, to take of some weight as it is a track only car.

I did it as my brother (Project_XR2i_Trackcar) did it to lose some weight, think he copied it from Heeman?

This what I need to do next plus also doing some painting on the car at the same time, but the weather is crap at the moment and cold.

My Brother Chris, hes got a Black 2 litre Zetec Xr2i track Car.

Picked up myself another 1.8 engine Friday before Christmas Eve, for the the Turbo conversion.

Image

The RS1800 130spec engine is ready to go in, just need to get an engine crane and a Decated Down pipe. That will do for now until the turbo engine and bits are ready.

Yep, engine stand :)

Been cleaning it up over Christmas & Boxing Day, to get rid of the yuk yellow paint. Getting a collection of zetec now  The one on the floor in the RS1800 spec engine ready to go in with my CULT ecu and MAF I've got, to replace the 1.6 engine just need a cambelt kit and a engine crane.

Reset the Coilovers and fitted my alloy strutbrace yesterday.

Pics after the coilovers sorted, still can got a bit lower. But the already rubs the bumper on full lock, so don't need it any worse.
