my drivers side door lock is buggered and i have not got a scooby doo how to chance the fecking thing. i have read that the layoout is different in the 3.5 to the mk3 so i was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction about how to change the thing.

if anyone is wondering i can lock the door using it but the bloody thins wont unlock when i try.

i had the same problem i called out car lock person he just made me dublicate key and replaced the barrels so ur best bet is juts get a call out car lock person bt ring round first.

Nah mate, don't do that ! Why waste money when they are piss easy to do yourself?

Go down to Fords, get a new barrel kit, whip the old barrel out of the door, crack it open and take out the rings writing down the numbers stamped on the rings as you go. Put the new rings into the new barrel with the same number sequence, re-clip it all up and re mount in the door. Stick your original key in and try it out. Hey presto. I've got a guide somewhere, but if not I can make a guide for ya with pics...

BTW the only real difference between the MK3.5 and the MK3 barrels is the way that they mount onto the door, with the MK3 its like a C bracket, but the 3.5 has a circular clamp mechanism, but either way quite easy!
