Mk3.5 si brakes on a mk4

Postby just t on Thu May 08, 2008 4:17 pm

Heya,

Just wondering whether the vented brakes of a mk3.5 fiesta will fit on my mk4 ghia?

Cheers

Don't bother. I have bother setups and I can tell you that you will be wholly disappointed with the pedal feel. If you want to upgrade get the Zetec-S master cylinder and callipers.

I once got offered some Lexus lights for free, I didn't put them on my car though because they are s**t.

The problem is even if they fit is that the master cylinder is too small and it will feel spongey as buggery without uprating that. Once you've got to that stage you may as well go for a setup that it specifically designed for your car.

Believe me, go and buy some decent pads and discs and that will give a better upgrade than farting around mk3 stuff.

Plus another thing to bear in mind, the ventilated disc are no better (actually worse imo) in the braking power department than the non-ventilated ones. Reason being they are the same diameter, the ventilation is only there for cooling and unless the car is being hammered down country roads on a regular basis there is no reason to upgrade to them. If you are going to upgrade, then something that you will notice difference.

That's fair enough mate but believe me I'm giving you the best advice. These are your brakes, you need them, deal with them properly.
