mk3.5 suspension

Postby MattPym on Thu Mar 29, 2007 9:26 pm

I've been looking around for a suspension kit for a 3.5 and can only find two kits :( Weitec Ultra GTs and Spax VSX. Does anyone know which of these are better as regards to ride quality and handling?

Before anyone suggests them i will not be purchasing G-max as this is cheese not suspension

pimsle @ cheese

I'd say Spax VSX. Had Spax springs on my old fez and they were top :)

I myself am running on Gmax suspension and agree it's poo.

Set of Koni dampers and standard springs will give you very good handling and ride..

I'm getting the Spax, as highly recommended on a budget. You may have to wait a couple of weeks (I've been waiting since the end of Jan) as apparently they're having trouble getting parts.

Depends what model you have. Look at your current shock absorbers, Fiestas with ARBs will have 2 tabs just under the spring cup, one will be holding the brake hose, the other will be the top bolt of the ARB droplink.

Fiestas without an ARB don't have these 2 tabs and the brake hose is attatched on the back I think.

Even if you don't have an ARB, you can still use shocks with the ARB tab, but if you do have one then you can't use the shocks without the tab.

I had the spax VSX on my fezz Si. Good kit, pretty firm but i dont mind that.
Gives the car a nice stance too.

Somebody else that knows about G-Lax :Q

Never had any dealings with Weitec so can't comment on them but have only ever had good dealings with Spax
