Quick Small update - White bits are finally going! no more white vents or centre console, wipers going gloss black next weekend.

buying turbo bonnet and turbo kit next weekend. Abosulutely mint for £250, they are white at the moment but will be colour matching it month after.

xr2i backbox will be going on next month also to replace the s**t horrible cherry bomb i have on at the moment (yes i know withhold your insults).

Lowering it more aswell, 60/50mm. And im not sure yet but i might buy some bigger escort gti/mondeo wheels from the same rs turbo that has been completely broken. (let me know if you want any)

Finally i need some opinions on wheel colour i dont want white anymore, but im not sure what colour! let me know! The car sint gloss black by the way, sort of like grey/black.

Will post some picture soon!

Opinions on whether I should keep the bonnet the creamy white colour it is and get the wheels colour matched or colour match the bonnet to the rest of the car?

haven't been on much recently, and not much progress has been made :(

Purchased a turbo bonnet, slightly rusty and got that resprayed this week and put on just in time for classic ford. Also gave my car a really good clean, wash, compound polish, wax, back to black etc. will take a good picture in the sun.

turbo bonnet before spray.

Image

old badly filled and sprayed bonnet that was on the car when i bought it.
Image

nice shiny new bonnet!
Image

In two weeks i will be buying a new kit to replace the old f***ed one. i will take some pictures of how bad it is tomorrow as well.

did any one from here go to classic ford? didn't see many rs turbos going down the strip like last year.

i think i might, just get two ford ones and then when i get a new engine either get xr2i or rsturbo on it.

anyway pictures i said about yesterday!
gave it a quick clean wipe down when i got back from college. so much dust had gathered on it in two days!
nice clean and shiny now though! (other than the dead flies) :x

straight in the bin when it comes off. slightly nervous to see what the body is like underneath but its pretty solid everywhere else. Few dents and one minor spot of rust but nothing major. Will all be sorted soon. :aviator: :aviator: :aviator:

the kit could just use a strip down and some filler then repainting, wouldnt bin it personally

whats going on with the exhaust?

The new one is just in a lot better condition mate just want a nice one really. And well funny story, on the way from picking it up from Essex the exhaust blew (think it had a hole drilled in it to make it louder) so I need to put one on asap and my brother found a cherry bomb In the shed so we put that on and it has been bodged massively. I haven't got round to getting a new one and I like when it pops
Get sick of it being really loud but I don't know what to replace it with, had an xr2i one on it when I bought it

well if you buy a reducer any thing will fit from the bigger engined mk3s, and theres certainly no lack of choice there!

well your 1.1 (i guess) will use a small diamerter exhaust bore, the 1.6's and bigger use a 2 inch exhaust pipe through, you would need to reduce a 2" to your diameter, i cant remember the size off by head

i have a 1.3 but i assume its the same concept, i will have to look into getting one.

anyway went and bought my new kit today :aviator:

Its a bit dusty and is white but it has all the original green stripes on and it pretty good condition. i will be getting it sprayed next month and hopefully get all my body work issues sorted.

I am loving the recaros at the moment, although i found out when i went to Retro Show that they are not very comfortable to sleep in!

Got my new kit like 2 months ago but haven't got round to getting it sprayed but here is a picture anyway! they are so dirty but i cant imagine there's any point washing them if they are gonna be sanded down anyway.

Green Strips is amazing condition! :aviator:

Earlier this week i had a mishap with one of my wheels, the locking wheel nut came loose, flew off knocking my centre cap off and i couldnt find it :( also my wheel nearly fell off... all the bolts were loose. scary moment!
