Mk3, lowered 40mm, cut arches, 16s dont fit????

Right, tried fitting these 16s I had with 45 profile tryes BUT they wont go on (would catch arch and prob damage wing). The cossie bib on the bumper is a big prob as it sticks out a few mm on the inside of the arch where it attatches to the si bumper. However ive seen people with similar lowering and cossie bibs that have 16s fit (gmc for example) so am clueless as to whats going on. I was gona get koni adjustables but now looks like i gota get coilovers. Its just crazy! :x

I cant find the offset, where on the wheel or tyre should it be?To be honest mate though, they appear fit on fine terms of offset, and a change in offset to be honest wouldnt resolve the issue. I think its part to do with the cossie bib, bit also the ride height just seems remarkably low for 35mm lowering springs. Could it be to do with the shocks being spax and the springs gmax? :-?

Should really be using a 40 profile tyre on 16's. My bro is using 195/45's on his though and he had to have the front arches rolled and the kit bonded on to give the clearance. Still catches on some bumps :o

Cutting is the only way, hence mine being back on 15".

you'll need 195/40R16 to have 16" fit without to much modifying..

if you go to 195/45r16 the wheel diameter will become to big .. and catch on full lock, .. as well as on the rear arches themselves.. (on a standard car .. lowered 35 - 40mm)

Cheers lads, as much as i thought, 40 profile and a little more trimming should get them ok. They wont be on for another two years anyway as the cars coming off the road to work on, so got plently of time
