mk3 & mk3.5 differences
Quick question for the knowledgable...
What are the differences in the front ends between mk3 & mk3.5s? Is it limited to lower arms / hubs / track rods / etc, or are there geometric differences in the shell itself?
ie if one was (hypothetically) reshelling a mk3 into a mk3.5, would you be able to transplant the mk3 front susp bits?
Arr. One day I'll have a garage and a rust free N or P plate shell to do this

His question is quite specific to a certain part of the car and probably hasnt been answered recently
So instead of posting 'search' which is just unhelpful, either answer the question or pass over the post

What I can make out
stronger shell, different floor pan
tear drop style wing mirrors
round side repeaters
round edged rub strips
new style ford oval on later builds
introduction of side impact bars
drivers airbag as standard, passenger is optional
chassis number is on the dash
lower center console different
dial needles are pointed and not rounded
two talegate lifters instead of one
HCS CFi engines in the lower spec, not carb fed HCS
EDIS module
dash had airbag warning light
light switch stalk has tab for easier flicking on and off
Passive imobiliser
lights on warning siren on drivers door
fuel filler is a flap and cap not just cap
no swage lines on tailgate
better handling and suspension
integral dash clock has flashing led for imobilser activation/deactivation
imobiliser chip in key
the tailgate lock has a smaller metal area than the mk3 version
electric windows buttons are in the door bins not centre console
front seat belt clips are on the mounting point on the seat and not in the floor
catch trays between door and seats in the front
wider range of standard bodycolors than mk3
Fiesta decal on rear was embosed plastic as standard and not vynal
ABS on some models
zetec engine in some models
clear front indicators as standard - thanks Jockster
I cant think of any more

Excursion, nail, head, thx
Thank ye kindly all others for the responses
Reshelling won't happen yet, but I'm thinking of getting quite a few front susp bits changed [lower arms / hubs / track rod ends / rack] and whether or not they'd survive a reshelling would obviously affect whether I replace them or not
Lastly (and I know this isn't a mk3/mk3.5 question) I remember reading somewhere on this here forum that the FRST had a quicker steering rack than 2i's, is my ailing memory correct?
Cheers all
