Mk3 / Mk3.5 Strut conversion

Problem or technical question?

Mk3 / Mk3.5 Strut conversion

Postby Dazza on Thu Jan 15, 2015 7:20 pm

All,

Obviously the Mk3.5 struts are thicker than Mk3's. I have an Si and I want to fit some coilovers I've got from a Mk3, I was thinking of making up a shim to bridge the gap between Mk3.5 hub and Mk3 strut, I think its about 1.5mm - Has anyone done this before and if so, do you have a picture of the shim?

Thanks

Did it years ago, used a strip of copper as a shim, then put the strut in and did the bolt up tight.

Will see if I can get a pic when at my parents.
