MK3 suspension help

Postby _Spud_ on Tue May 06, 2003 3:27 pm

Hello all, my first post!

I currently drive an Unmodded :aaah: MK3 fiesta Ghia.

I want to try and upgrade the suspension as the car handles like a jelly on a roller coaster. :o

I will also be getting some new alloys, Team Dynamics TORNADO RIMS, 195-45-15. I went for this size as the guide on the main page said this would fit straight on with no modding of the bodywork.

Can you please recommend me a kit for increasing the handling of the car?

I read on the main pages again that lowering the car by about 35mm would increase the handling, any more info on this?

Thanks all, sorry if this has been posted before.

Welcome to the site :)

Heres a rough guide for You, it all depends on your budget:

- Springs only which'll set you back anywhere from £80 - £130

- Shock & Springs for about £180 - £300

- Coilovers £500 >

Springs will give you a fixed drop and ride comfort.

Adustable shocks and springs will give you a fixed drop but will enable you to adjust the damping to suit.

Avo Coilover's for example will allow you to adjust both the damping and the ride height.

Speak to X-Factor Motorsport (01753 632811, website) and im sure he'll be able to match you to a product to suit your needs along with a quality price

Just like to say welcome and I would like to add what a great answer to your question Andy Si gave. Nothing much else left to say.
