Mk3 with 2ltr Zetec Si
Hi all.
If possable could i pick your brains for a while.
I have an N reg Fiesta with an XR2i CVH engine in it at the moment BUT a friend of mine has asked me if i would like to buy his 2ltr Si Zetec silver top off of him as it will go into the Mk3 no problem.
He also said to keep the gear box and fly wheel from the CVH as this will conect right upto the Zetec (IS THAT RIGHT ENOUGH?)
Also he said that i would NOT need to do a break conversion but simply replace disks and pads for performance ones.
And what about the wireing e.g the loom and ecu?
Is there anyone on the forum that has done this conversion or could someone give me some sites that i can look at about Zetec conversions i would be very greatfull for your help folks much apprecated

Re: Mk3 with 2ltr Zetec Si
there are pleanty of guides on the site for doing 2 ltr conversions, i am slightly confused tho where you say that you N reg has a 1.6 CVH, as these were only fitted to fiesta's up untill 1991/2 with the introduction of catalytic convertors so were replaced by the 1800 zetec in the xr2i to comply with strickter emission controls. Has your car already had an engine conversion? or are you mistaking the 1400 PTE (newer version of the cvh that was only made in 1.4's) for a CVH?
It is a simple engough conversion and yes you can retian the CVH flywheel if you have the bolt holes slightly enlarged on the flywheel to accept the zetec flywheel to crank retaining bolts.
As for brakes, if you have the higher spec vented disk brakes instead of the solid disk brakes then you could try using uprated disks and pads but it is not something i would advise, they are poor at the best of time after a few good applications they fade badly! i would strongly advise to upgrade to bigger brakes as at the end of the day safety is more important than anything else!
here is the guide from the guide section

hope this has helped
