Mk3 XR2i front brake upgrade...what will fit

Postby Shayne on Sat Sep 04, 2004 1:12 pm

Project coming along nicely, thinking about upgrading the front calipers. Can anyone tell me which other ford units will fit standard fitments please. Thanks in advance.

No as 1.1 discs are solid and therefore you calipers are too small for vented disks

You need everything from the XR2i, calipers, discs and pads.

Otherwise they are a straight fit

Oh and to answer your question Shayne, Escort RS2000 front brakes are a direct fit and 260mm. Made quite a difference on mine

I can get front and back brakes complete from a RWD 2.0 Sierra Ghia (K reg).... will these fit?

I have FRST vented on the front and frst drums on the back... which were better than the solid discs/standard drums.... (mines a 1.3)
