Mk4 Engine Conversion

Postby Gav on Fri Aug 22, 2003 7:44 pm

Hi

As you may know, I've just bought a Mondeo Estate. I'm going to use it for a couple of months as a load lugger then sell it on at XMas I think.

I am haf-thinking of buying a cheap, high mileage Fiesta Mk4 with plans to have the engine changed. I don't know anything about engines or gearboxes so I was wondering if you could lend me your expertese people.

Would it be possible to use the 2.0 16v Zetec engine from a Mondeo? I've seen it done in mk3.5s but never in mk4s. If so, could you tell me what is involved in the process and how much it would cost roughly?

Thanks for any help you can give

AFAIK its just the same concept as the mk3 conversions but obviously with newer technology and stuuf.

i dont see it being a problem fitting the engine in though as ive seen mk5's with 2.0 engines in them so it should go in a mk4 just as easy

sorry i dont know about the technical side but i hope it helps a bit anyway

Cheers

the fact that its a mk4 means that u can use the later series of zetec. if i remember correctly u the mounts are the same as the focus.
